Job Description
Since we don’t have our own sales organizations in every country, we export our products and collaborate with partners all over the world. I work as the commercial contact person for our European partners. Together with the partners and our global marketing team we plan how to achieve the best possible results for specific markets.
What kind of pets do you have and what are their names?
The short-haired cat’s name is Laban, and the long haired one is Raga-Muffins, aka Raggis. Both are mixed breed; however, I believe Raggis may have a hint of Norwegian forest cat blood in his veins.
What is your favourite animal?
Definitely the cat because they are independent, wise, and affectionate IF you deserve their attention. 😉
How did you end up working in Orion Animal Health?
I’ve always loved animals and, when I was younger, I even considered working as a veterinarian. When this export sales position opened at Orion Pharma Animal Health, I jumped at the possibility to transfer from another division in Orion to join the animal team. I have worked for the Orion Corporation for ten years total, three in my current position.
What are you passionate about in life?
My kids are my passion - watching them grow up and develop their own personalities is exhausting, scary, fascinating, and rewarding.
What inspires you in your daily Orion work?
Being able to make a difference! I am very proud to be working for a Finnish company, exporting products developed by us that have an important role in the everyday life of the veterinarian and pet owner.
Best thing about your job?
I get energized meeting with our partners! I’m impressed by the amount of knowledge and ideas shared when we get together. Every meeting offers the possibility to learn something new.
What is special about Orion compared to other companies you’ve worked for?
The trust from my manager and flexibility, which is especially important when living with small children :)
What skills / capabilities have you learned (adopted) in your current work?
I am a very efficient person and I like to get things done. In this role, I have learned that many things cannot be hurried and patience is a virtue – even more so than I would like to accept.
Fun fact about yourself?
I have a goal to go for a swim in the sea once a week every winter. The freezing water gives a fabulous body and mind boost.
Your funniest pet (animal) story?
When I was around 15 years old, I was out horseback riding in the woods with a friend. As we came to a small lake, her horse got really excited and dove right in, with her in the saddle. The whole situation was so unexpected—the way the horse jumped, the surprise on my friend’s face, and them submerged for some seconds. Luckily, it was something we could laugh at together, riding back to the stables—her in soaking wet clothes.
If you were an animal, what animal would you be, and why?
I believe I would like to be a dolphin, exploring places I haven’t been to. I really love the water and think it would be very exciting to dive into the deep, looking for sunken treasure (although a dolphin would be not interested in treasure hunting).
